Abstract:

Elixir Aircraft is using CATIA on the Cloud and leveraging Dassault Systèmes 3D Remote service relying on NVIDIA GRID technology. Showcased last year as a proof of concept, 3D Remote (DS offering on the cloud to run CATIA on a remote VM on the cloud) is now officially available. Elixir Aircraft will explain how they could benefit from workstation in the Cloud leveraging 3DEXPERIENCE platform with minimal setup and no hardware constraints to design their aircraft with latest CATIA version. Dassault Systèmes and NVIDIA will also share some of the coming developments available in the future.

In this session you will learn how Dassault Systems uses NVIDIA GRID cards and the NVIDIA GRID SDK to bring their applications into the cloud. We will take a look behind the scene at the technologies used to provide fast, high-quality graphics streaming and will cover implementation and design details of the Dassault remoting application. Furthermore we will talk about new, exciting ideas for next generation application remoting jointly developed by Dassault Systems and NVIDIA engineers. Finally we will give demos of the Dassault remoting application as well as some of our next generation prototypes.

This session will provide an advanced technical preview of Dassault Systèmes’ real-time, multi-GPU, OpenGL compositing based on CATIA 3D modeler and NVIDIA technology. Thierry Rouf, Director of FashionLab research at Dassault Systèmes, will explain the benefits of this ground-breaking experience for his department, at the crossroads of the luxury industry and the world of 3D. Coupled with an ALIOSCOPY ultra HD glasses-free 3D screen and a dedicated iOS app, he will manipulate in real time a complete 3D luxury watch model for a mobile 3D immersive experience. Christophe Delattre, DS Software Architecture Director at Dassault Systèmes, will cover the technical details and the different applications for this kind of system, from “CAVE in a box” to multi display walls using CATIA. François Quentin, watch designer and owner of the 4N brand, will also be on stage with his watch to confirm how this dramatically changes product showcase, from concept development to design validation, generating new possibilities for consumers showcase.
