Abstract:
We'll provide an overview of video encoding and decoding technologies available using NVIDIA GPUs. In particular, attendees can expect to learn the following: (1) overview of NVIDIA Video Codec SDK; (2) new features in NVIDIA video encoding (NVENC) and decoding (NVDEC) hardware with latest generation GPU chips; (3) changes and new features in Video Codec SDK 6.0 and roadmap; and (4) How to use the API's exposed by video codec SDK for various applications, such as transcoding, capturing & streaming etc.

This session will cover the technologies behind NVIDIA GRID and game streaming in the cloud. We will present NVIDIA GRID technologies and the software components of the GRID SDK used for capturing graphics and using the hardware compression engine enabling developers to deliver the ultimate low latency cloud gaming experience. The second part will review our set of optimization guidelines to enable efficient game streaming from the cloud for improvements in performance and enhancements in the gameplay experience. We will also present research in cloud exclusive techniques that enable the use of of Global Illumination, Multiple-Viewport Rendering, and Hybrid and Cloud rendering for advanced game engines.

Computer Vision algorithms are extremely well suited for GPU architectures because they demand large computational power that GPUs offer over CPUs. This talk provides an overview of the different GPU libraries such as (OpenCV, GPUCV, PCL, and NPP Libraries) and online resources (GPU4Vision and OpeNVIDIA) available for developers today. Examples and demonstrations of practical applications making use of these libraries will also be shown throughout the talk.
