Abstract:
Image recognition identifies one or more people in images or videos by analyzing and comparing patterns. Algorithms for face recognition typically extract facial features and compare them to a database to find the best match. This system may be used in biometric, security, and surveillance systems, but is also useful in the social media space where personal affinities can be applied upon successful identification. The infrastructure to support the training and building phases of this application requires a large amount of data to be processed in parallel.
