Are you struggling to understand why your graphics application isn't performing the way you think it should? Have you added new features only to see new rendering bugs and your frame rate fall? We'll discuss how NVIDIA Nsight Graphics provides tools to solve some of the most puzzling graphics rendering and performance problems. We'll walk you through through real-world examples that show how use NVIDIA's developer tools to solve these issues and more. Learn how to use the Frame Debugger to find those pesky rendering anomalies, and how to dig into the GPU performance metrics provided by the Range Profiler to decode your performance issues. We'll also cover how to harness GPU Trace to better understand how your application is utilizing the vast parallel computing resources of the shader units. Come ready to unleash your inner GPU Ninja!

In this session, the Developer Tools team at NVIDIA will present a new tool that we''ve been developing for graphics debugging and profiling. Similar to our other graphics debugger, Nsight Visual Studio Edition, this tool is a powerful way for developers to debug graphics applications through features like Pixel History, Events Viewer and Resource Viewer. Advanced profiling functionality like the Range Profiler are also present, in addition to a number of other exciting new features. In this session, we''ll provide an overview of what our graphics debuggers can be used for, along with a walkthrough of how you can debug and profile a simple application.

We'll demonstrate how to use Nsight to solve rendering and API setup issues, including the use of frame serialization to try out different solutions without having to modify your application. Also, we'll show you how to use the Range Profiler to dig into how your application utilizes the GPU, allowing you to tune your code and shaders to achieve target frame rates.

The GPU has evolved rapidly from its invention in 1999 as a “VGA Accelerator”, becoming a massively parallel general purpose accelerator for heterogeneous computing systems. This talk will focus on significant milestones in GPU architecture and programming models, covering several key concepts that demonstrate why advances in GPU-accelerated computing performance and power efficiency will continue to outpace CPUs.
