Abstract:

Learn how Gensler is using the latest technology in virtual reality across all aspects of the design process for the AEC industry. We'll cover how VR has added value to the process when using different kinds of VR solutions. Plus we'll talk about some of the challenges Gensler has faced with VR in terms of hardware, software, and workflows. Along with all of this, NVIDIA's latest VR visualization tools are helping with the overall process and realism of our designs.

NVIDIA's Iray technology was a game changer in the design process of its new corporate campus. Gensler teamed up with developers at NVIDIA to help integrate this technology into the process to accurately simulate how the design of the campus would look in the real world. This process ended up helping everyone understand how light and materials were going to act in the 500,000-square-foot space. Being able to accurately compute how the massive amount of daylight coming into the space would react to changes in the design was incredible feedback for the designers. The data that Iray visualized helped with almost every design decision from start to finish.

Our toolkit includes Revit, 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite, and an array of other programs that build on them. It runs on the NVIDIA Quadro GPU, which we chose for its exceptional performance. Thanks to NVIDIA, we can deliver our design visions to our clients as fast as we can create them.
