Abstract:
In this talk we will discuss the work Columbia University, in partnership with NYC government, is using deep learning and GPUs to develop smart city traffic management facilitating support for navigation/movement of multitude of vehicles (including autonomous cars) in dense urban environments with many pedestrians. We will describe our work in real-time tracking of cars and pedestrians, prediction of movement based on historical observations of the intersection, backed by ultra-low latency wireless communications and edge computing nodes.
